It all started when Carter G. Woodson established Negro History week in 1926. Now, Black History Month serve us to remember the struggle for freedom in the United States and celebrates contributions made by African Americans and people of African descent around the world.

Back in the days, it was called Negro History Week and was celebrated the second week of February. Today it is celebrated for the whole month of February in the United States and Canada, and the month of October in the United Kingdom.
